Be advised of the location if two submarine cables in the North Pacific located off the coast of Bandon, Oregon. The TPC-5 cable system consists of two submarine cables that extend off the continental shelf from Long Beach Landing at Bandon. AT&T, as one of the owners of this cable system is announcing its installation to the commercial fishing industry in order to avoid potential conflict with their gear and the cable.
Fishermen are advised to exercise prudent seamanship in the vicinity of charted submarine cables. Trawling or dredging over cables may cause entanglement, causing lost gear, fishing time and damage to the vital international communication cable.
